Destination Sylt.

Sylt - Germanys northernmost island in the North Sea. To Sylt you come from Schleswig-Holstein mainland by train on the Hindenburgdamm or by plane or boat.

On the island you can expect a wide range of tourism, more than 60,000 guest beds, health resorts, dune landscapes and a nearly 40-kilometer-long sandy beach.

The almost 100 sq km island has about 17,000 inhabitants.

Numerous areas on Sylt and in the Sylt Wadden Sea are protected. On the island area alone, there are ten nature reserves with dune and heath landscapes, cliffs and small inland waters.

The tourism is the islands most important economic feature, with more than 800,000 guests annually and more than six million overnight stays in hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments.

Largest place on Sylt is Westerland. More than half of the islanders live in this place recognized as a Seeheilbad, located on the west coast of Sylt place. Here, as well as in the other places of the island, you will find a wide range of accommodation in hotels, guesthouses, apartment houses, holiday apartments and guest rooms and a large number of restaurants offering upscale dining options.

Sylt offers a wide range of leisure and beach facilities as well as nature experiences. More than 12,000 beach chairs are available in the summer on the 40 km long sandy beach on the west coast of the island for vacationers. Also on the Sylt east coast - in the places List, Braderup, Morsum, Munkmarsch, Rantum and Hörnum - there are excellent bathing places.
